MIST COOLING SYSTEMS – Industrial and Commercial cooling

Introduction to Mist Cooling:

  • Coldmist Cooling systems have been designed to operate where conventional air conditioning is not practical, possible or simply too expensive.
  • As a derivative of the climate control systems used in livestock cooling applications such as chicken hatcheries, piggeries and dairies, the misting system design incorporates the injection of water -  PRESSURIZED TO 1000 PSI - through specially designed and patented nozzles. The resultant finely atomized 8-10 MICRON water droplets, when introduced into the surrounding air effectively flash evaporate and cool the air they come into contact with.

Reduce ambient temperature by 10-12° and provide immediate heat stress relief for passengers in crowded railway stations and subways. 

Mist Cooling – How it works

misted wharehouseInstallation of a COLDMIST misting system permits the atomization of mains water droplets (100 microns) to MICRO droplets (8 - 10 MICRONS) in size.

When these micro droplets come into contact with hot air they flash evaporate - effectively consuming/removing heat from the air. Repeated millions of times a second, this flash evaporation process results in large amounts of heat energy consumption - thus reducing the ambient temperature by 10- 12 degrees

The equipment used to micro atomize water producing a refreshing cold mist includes a high pressure pump/controller and top quality brass misting nozzles fitted with anti-drip adaptors.

  • The nucleus of the Coldmist mist cooling system is the HIGH PRESSURE Pump/Controller. All Coldmist misting fans and pump/controllers are of the highest quality ensuring maximum reliability and efficiency.
  • Distribution of the micro water droplets is achieved via misting nozzles which are sized to suit the application
  • All brass misting nozzles are fitted with anti-drip adaptors – therefore no wetting occurs!

Coldmist offer 2 TYPES of misting nozzle distribution systems :

  1. The SLIPLOCK misting system which comprises a series of solid brass misting nozzles coupled with high pressure UV resistant nylon mist line – rated 1800 psi - which allows for quick and easy installation without the requirement for special tools ( components simply “push-fit” together ) making it ideal for DIY self - installation.
  2. The alternate patented Danish FLEXCLAMP misting system uses Flexclamp nozzles and stainless steel tubing , stainless steel pipe joiners and accessories. This system requires the tubing to be pre-punched by Coldmist prior to installation.
